Never give up!

----------------------------------------------------------
- By Bruno Gideon

A friend of mine, over 50 years old, unexpectedly lost his job. He was desperate, but only for one day. Then he told me that, despite his age, he was sure he could find another job. He went on the hunt immediately, going to interview after interview. It took him only three weeks to get a job – one that he continues to enjoy today. I could see that there were two secrets to his success: he fuelled his outlook with positive thinking and he refused to take no for an answer.

Never, never, never give up!
– Winston Churchill

I do not think there is any other quality so essential to success of any kind as the quality of perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even nature.
– John D. Rockefeller

I shouldn’t have been surprised when my friend landed his job. History is replete with examples of people who succeeded because they believed in themselves and never gave up. Think of the novelist Stephen King. His first novel, Carrie, was rejected dozens of times, but he believed he was destined to be a published writer and has since sold millions of copies of his many books.

What about you? Are you about to give up? Take Churchill’s advice: Don’t!

- Bruno Gideon
