Remember the saying: "I am rubber you are glue, whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you"? I think we all have at one time said those words, particularly when we are children coping with hurtful teasing. Perhaps we were wiser than we knew.
When we say or even think hurtful words to another person, it is rather like trying to throw a boomerang. They will come back to us. This is one of the Universal Laws. Whatever we send out will come back to us ten times over. Often it is amplified even more, which all depends on the intensity of the emotion behind the thoughts or words.
The same is true of positive thoughts, words and emotions. They will come back to you, multiplied. The really difficult part is to thank and bless someone that does or says something really hurtful directed at you.
Just remember to pause, get in touch with that place we all have inside, where feelings of love and laughter reside and send those emotions back at that person. It really does get easier with practice. Just remember, when you throw out that boomerang that it will come back to you. Give a blessing and in turn, be blessed.
