Moving On

----------------------------------------------------------
Outgrowing Spaces

While some people live their whole lives in the same house they were born in, most of us move multiple times, inhabiting many different spaces in the course of our lives. Rooms, houses, and cities all have their own energy fields, and while the energy of a place may have served us beautifully at one point, it can actually be detrimental or just uninspiring, at another.

We need different types of energy at different times in our lives. For example, we may be in great need of peace and quiet at a certain point, and move into a home that helps us feel safe and protected. Once our energy is restored, however, that same place might feel stifling and restrictive. A home filled with past memories can be warm and comforting for a time, but may become energetically oppressive if we want to feel free of that past. It is important that we honor any signals we receive that we may have energetically outgrown our current residence. Sometimes we stay in a living situation not because it is inspiring, but because it is convenient. And yet, to really thrive in our lives, we need to think beyond convenience. We need to commit to surrounding ourselves with the energetic qualities that most support our growth and well-being.

If you are feeling like you may have outgrown your space, take some time to evaluate why you were first drawn to it and what it has offered you. Are you wanting to move for the right reasons, or are you just wanting to run away? Honor and acknowledge the ways in which your space has helped you and the ways in which it may be holding you back. This will help clarify what you need in your next home. Once you understand the energetic qualities you want, you can begin to visualize your next dwelling place, setting the universe in motion to help you find it.
